How Much Does a Kitchen Remodel Cost in Dallas–Fort Worth? (2026 Guide)
September 15, 20266 min read

“How much will it cost?” is the first question every homeowner asks, and the honest answer is: it depends on scope, selections and the condition of what is behind your walls. After 18 years of remodeling kitchens across Collin and Dallas counties, here is how we help clients think about budget.
Three budget tiers for DFW kitchens
Most kitchen remodels in Plano, Frisco, Allen, Richardson and Dallas fall into one of three tiers.
- Refresh: new countertops, backsplash, paint, hardware, lighting and possibly refaced cabinets. Layout stays the same.
- Full remodel: new cabinets, counters, flooring, lighting, plumbing fixtures and appliances in the same footprint.
- Layout change: everything in a full remodel plus wall removal, relocated plumbing or electrical, and structural beams. This is the most popular tier in 1980s–1990s DFW homes with closed-off kitchens.
What drives the price
Cabinetry is typically the single largest line item, followed by countertops and labor for trades. Moving a sink or range, opening a load-bearing wall and upgrading an electrical panel each add meaningful cost but also the most value in daily use.
Older homes in Richardson, Garland and East Dallas may also need cast-iron drain replacement or updated wiring once walls are open. A good contractor inspects for these before quoting and includes a contingency.
How to avoid surprise change orders
Finalize selections before demolition. Get an itemized fixed-price proposal. Make sure permits are included. And work with a contractor who documents every change in writing before proceeding. At Aeroform Construction that is standard on every kitchen we build.
